Looking for very old replays

Dear lifein19x19.com, I'd really like to see replays of some old games. Replays of games that are at least 100 years old but ideally much older. The older the better. It'd be interesting to see what strategies the masters of past have used. Being a newb I don't even know where to look for. Google only finds information about the general history of go but no replays. Please share any links/replays you know of. Thank you.

It has a database with both modern games and way back 500 years.

If you want commentary as well, there is a book called 'Invincible' that might be just your thing.

Below are a few suggestions:

1) Create an account (it's free) on go4go.net. You can search games by date going back to 1941.
2) Badukmovies.com contains a pro game database (also free to search). I did a search for games between 1700 and 1916 (your 100 year cutoff point) and it returned more than 2,400 games.
3) Go software exists (SmartGo is a good one) that includes databases of pro games going back well over 100 years. A worthwhile investment.

For now I quickly glanced at badukmovies.com and wasn't disappointed at all. This site is awesome.
Also, apparently the same GoGoD replay pack bundled with SmartGo is available separately for $15.

Glad you found something that works for you immediately.

Commercial software, such as smartgo, does enhance the search capabilities. By pattern/player/period of time - all easily done. Win rates can be computed for the various openings as well. Sounds like this might be useful to you down the line.

Try the WeiqiOk app on iOS. I don't know if it's also for Android. There is a player database (along with their games) for Japanese, Chinese, Korean and world players. I use this app a lot to replay pro games on my own board, and play through a game when I want to kill time on a train/bus ride.

Another good website is Waltheri's go pattern search.
