Sakata Eio
Does somebody know at what age Sakata Eio start to play the game of go?

I don't know at what age he started but he did not reach 1p until age 15 so I doubt he started much earlier than the typical pro of his era.
Still officially AGA 5d but I play so irregularly these days that I am probably only 3d or 4d over the board (but hopefully still 5d in terms of knowledge, theory and the ability to contribute).

Sakata was born in 1920
The Showa era started in 1926

That's kind of what I was expecting when I said typical for the era.
