I think I got tripped up by trying to be too clever.

Three hane-connects. is just early. is smaller than D8. is sleepwalking: you need to play R13 right now.

The problem with is that it is meaningless unless you have an attack on the white group top right.

Endgame before middlegame is cart before horse.

Getting my groove back

Brief update - I'm still alive and playing go. For one brief week late last year I even managed to crack 1k on dgs. But then alas I went away over Christmas and my iPod died. I spent a while getting a replacement and timed out on a bunch of matches in the meantime - dropping a few ranks in the process. Oh the wailing and gnashing of teeth! What had I done to deserve such a fate! (The truth, I'm sorry to say, is that I did sulk for a couple of days when I found out what had happened).

Anyway with no iPod and mounting work pressure around the same time, I was away from go for a while. But I'm back now - albeit a bit rusty.
