Semi Final(3 games match, 6/10, 6/12, and 6/14),
Lee Sedol vs Park Junghwan
Kono Rin vs Tang Weixing

Why the 3 game match system let Kono Rin play in four final player match?

Sorry about blunder!!!!!!!

I read an article about these matches this morning:
http://www.tygem.com/news/news/viewpage ... &findword=

There were interesting stats about the historical records between players:

* Lee Sedol vs. Park Jungwan: Lee is up, 17 wins to 10 losses against Park, but looking at just this year, Lee is only up 4-3.

* Shi Yue vs. Tang Weixing: Even at 3 wins and 3 losses each (looking only at international tournaments)

* Park Jungwan vs. Shi Yue: Even at 6 wins and 6 losses each.
* Park Jungwan vs. Tang Weixing: Even at 3 wins and 3 losses each.
* Lee Sedol vs. Shi Yue: Lee Sedol is up with 6 wins and 3 losses.
* Lee Sedol vs. Tang Weixing: Tang is up with 2 wins and 1 loss.

I was happy to see the article mention Andy Liu's earlier match against Lee Sedol, even if his name was written as "앤디 루이", which I would read as "Andy Lui". Maybe the author had a mixup with Eric Lui, as he's also had some activity in international tournaments.

Hey kids,

Come to the US Go Congress in Boston this summer and you can play on the same type of board, use the same type of bowl, play with the same stones, and track time on the same clocks as Park Junghwan and Lee Sedol in this picture!

Interesting that Park Junghwan (black) played practically the same opening as AlphaGo did against Lee Sedol in game 2 of their match (maybe a psychological ploy?). He played the early peep at the top left even earlier, and it was Lee who varied first with the outside approach to the Chinese corner rather than playing the hoshi, which Park pincered at and Lee immediately invaded (as he did against Won Seongjin in the Maxim cup final). Lee lost both games: it does some a nice active opening for black, you could even play that too at the US Go Congress, though I suspect your subsequent moves won't be so good!

But, but, but the board, the clock, and the stones are a crime against good aesthetics. The colors, the textures, the shapes, the materials, everything about them is abhorrent. For all the money the ING corporation had, couldn't they have hired an industrial designer?

Maybe Mr Ing designed them himself, and no one was brave enough to say 'no' to the boss. Though I think 'abhorrent' is a bit strong.

Ing Cup final starts tonight! Looks like Myungwan Kim 9p will stream live on the AGA youtube channel starting 8pm pacific. It's really awesome to have live English commentary on international go finals, I am super hyped for this.

Park Junghwan is the big favorite. goratings.org gives Park Junghwan a scary 71% winrate against Tang Weixing, but I am rooting for Tang all the way! They have played each other 8 times so far, and Park Junghwan leads 5-3. They played most recently back in June, when Park knocked Tang out of the Bailing Cup.

I know tygem will show the board live, any word about western servers like KGS or OGS?

I don't remember KGS broadcasting any Asian event ever. No idea about OGS.
