Is there any engine that could play at my level or higher on iOS these days, playing on 19x19? I'm AGA 4k, OGS 6kyu. I know that Champion Go would suffice with the server based version, but I have problems with connectivity, and would love a local version. But I don't know what the state of the art is on a mobile device, and if I'm asking for something that's still impossible.
If it matters, I have an iPhone 5S, though I'll probably upgrade within the year.

I think Champion Go would be a good choice, just using the local version. My guess is you would be able to win around 65% of the "medal challenge games" at 4 kyu, which gives you some room to grow.

Re: iOS engines
Thanks. I downloaded it last night. Against level 8, I'm capable of losing when I play blitz, so it seems good enough.
As far as growth, I think it's far more likely that the engine grows faster than I do. I've been playing for 11 years now, and the last few stones I gained have come slowly.

Re: iOS engines
I won at level 9 playing even on 19x19. I hope/suspect I can win on level 10 if I take my time (the computer plays almost instantly, even at high levels, so I'm lead to play too fast), so I think your guess is on target. The lower levels play so badly that I don't think it's worth playing, even giving a handicap.
On 9x9, the best I've done was a win in an even game against level 3 after several tries, or a no-komi game against the top level.
