Go in Arkansas
Any go clubs in Arkansas, spesifically in Little Rock or Jonesboro? There is 94% chance I will be in the state, coming this January. Would be fun to play some Go with Americans!

The AGA website is notoriously out of date but you may try: http://www.usgo.org/where-play-go?state=AR#listing
Also, the SL page has not been updated in 4 years, so who know: http://senseis.xmp.net/?NorthwestArkansasGoClub

Still officially AGA 5d but I play so irregularly these days that I am probably only 3d or 4d over the board (but hopefully still 5d in terms of knowledge, theory and the ability to contribute).

Re: Go in Arkansas
A very belated bump. There is no Go Club in my city, so I am trying to make one, lol. I hope the moderators will forgive me if I post a link to it here -> https://www.facebook.com/groups/7281549 ... ts&fref=ts

Which city would that be? (I don't click on FB links.)

You keep saying this is out of date but chapters are able to keep these up to date themselves. Have you actually found many that are out of date?

I have not looked for a couple of years, but last time I looked there were obsolete clubs listed. If chapters can keep them up to date themselves it doesn't really matter if a chapter dies because there may be no one left to make the change.

It may be nice to check regularly instead of telling people incorrect information.

Please explain to me how I am supposed to know whether it is correct, even if I check. Am I supposed to attempt to contact every club, even though I have no intention of trying to attend. My comment was that it was notorious for obsolete information. That used to be true. Perhaps, instead of attacking me for a correct statement, it would have been better to politely point out that recent efforts have made it more reliable than it used to be. You are also attacking a post which is 9 months old.

Re: Go in Arkansas
My apologies to you for your keen eye. I did not know this was an old thread only that it was at the top of the list for this subforum. I did not mean to suggest that you check every single chapter on the list. Only that it is kept up to date and i have seen multiple posts by a DrStraw saying the same thing every time. If I meant to offend you I am sorry. I hope in the future we can agree to say that the list is there and the chapters (the ones with the AGA logos) are definitely up to date. Chapters have to pay a yearly fee to receive that.

Re: Go in Arkansas
Not arguing about the AGA chapters. But there are many other clubs listed and those used to frequently be out of date.

Jonesboro, Arkansas. Until now, all the people I have met haven't even heard of the game, so I got to teach quite a few of them.
Sadly, most of them don't think the game is fun for some reason.

Hey! It's Arkansas! And Jonesboro isn't exactly the great metropolis of the state.

You are right. I don't have high hopes for my club, but hey, a miracle might happen
