Hi KOCMOHABT,

Small, minor suggestions:

- Replace "Kind" with "Type" for the column header for game types: R, F, T, D, P, 2, etc.

- Offer an option to toggle between R/F/T/D/2 with the spelled out types Rated, Free, Teaching, Demo, Private, Rengo, etc.
It's minor, but the single letters R and F could be easily mixed up in a very long column.

Color coding the background of the different types would also work well. In CGoban-h, free games are marked with green, teaching games with yellow, private games with grey, and rengo games with red, which helps greatly to distinguish the game types at a glance.

Hi KOCMOHABT,

Minor suggestion: now that each player's rank has its own column ( which is very nice ),
the UI may appear cleaner without the square brackets [ , and ].

Hi KOCMOHABT,

Minor suggestion -- I'm sure you're working on it for a future release.

Joining a Rengo game offer -- after clicking OK -- automatically logs off the user. :)

Hi KOCMOHABT,

Minor suggestion :)

I can move pop-up windows above the black border --
once this happens, there's no way for me to move the pop-up window,
because the window's top is now hidden behind the black border.

If the window has an OK button, or a Cancel button, then I can close it:

Otherwise, like the About window, then once the window's top is hidden behind the black border, then I cannot get rid of it, can I ? :)

Hi KOCMOHABT,

Minor suggestion/feature request:

The current Game Info pop-up is nice --
could you also merge the other info into it ?
That is, also include: game type, and Time settings details, etc.

Yes, a well designed and well thought out interface with good taste is nice.

Avoid featuritis / feature creep ; bad designs in general.

I really like sample 2 with the name coming first.

I thought about color-coding the game types (red for rated, green for free, etc.), too, but I agree that this is not clean. Now that thanks to KOCMOHABT we have a modern-looking, clean way to play on KGS we have to be careful not to overdo it. Although I'd suggest some minor sound changes for the chat sound and the sound when you put your stone on the board if AFTER the critical stuff has been dealt with AND you're still willing to do this, KOCMOHABT. I cannot imagine how much time you already put into this, but the results so far are great and your work is MUCH appreciated! (cannot emphasize that enough!)

Ok

Would be done
1. "Kind" will be replaced with "Type"
2. Brackets will be removed in list of games and list of players.
3. Info window for games will be extended with "TimeSettings"/"Type"/"BoardSize"
4. You won't be able to move any window away from view area. (for now you can restore position of "about/info" window by clicking "about/info" for second time)
5. Will be fixed issues found by yoyoma

Version 1.3.1

1. Added flashing for countdown like in original client. (So now you can play without a sound)
2. From now you wont be able to move any window from client area, also all windows now are scaling to area size.
3. Fixed bug with loading own games
4. Fixed bug with clearing all territory marks after the game ends.
5. "Kind" was replaced with "type" in the list of games, also brackets around the rank were removed in the list of games.
6. TimeSettings and type of the game were added to the info about the game.

Wow! This project has really grown in leaps and bounds. Nice work.

Happy to provide some feedback.
Feedback 1
Just an off the hip comment, but what about making the second counter larger or more graphical (make it look like a game clock, for example)?

Feedback 2
Separately, I think the 0.1 second running countdown is a little distracting. I'm not sure how other folks think.

Feedback 3
I suspect that you're just focusing on the programming elements right now, but I'm excited at the prospect of seeing a graphic designer work on the board and stones a bit. I was impressed by Panda 2 when it came out. It'd give your modern client a very sharp look.

Aesthetically pleasing links.

I agree that this is not necessary and a little distracting, but I don't think it's urgent. Concerning the look of the client: I think it looks neat as it is. GoPanda looks very nice, too (I admit I like the sounds there better ^^; ), but GoUniverse is already such an improvement compared to the regular KGS client. IMHO automatch implementation and making game reviews faster (the reaction time when you use the arrow keys is veeeery slow) would be my top priorities for now.
