TBH, to me this looks like some poor “jumping the bandwagon” by using a name for Go that has been made famous by the recent documentary “The Surrounding Game”.

I don't think that the age old name is "围棋 Тhe Surrounding Game." The only difference from the title of the movie is using a different character (Japanese variant?) for 围 (clever way of avoiding copyright violation?).
