Hello,
I tried to launch Rayon on Paperspace which is a cloud pc with these settings: CPU XEON E5 2623 v4 (8 cores) GPU NVIDIA Quadro P5000. The OS is Windows 10 64 bits.
When I try to launch the ray.exe file it immediately shut down with this message: "ray.exe has stop working" while on my real pc it works. I tried to download many files (Java, Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable, etc.) but nothing changed.
Has anyone succeeded to launch Rayon on a cloud pc (liquidsky, paperspace, etc.) then?
Has anyone tried to launch Rayon 4.20.4 on a cloud pc?

Same symptom here with a virtual machine running Win 10 on a Mac. The crash occurs during CNTK init.
The previous versions did not crash.
Strange. Maybe it is related to the use of the new CNTK API ?

Never tried on cloud, but just to be sure, did you install CNTK as well? https://github.com/Microsoft/CNTK/releasestartaric wrote:I tried to download many files (Java, Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable, etc.) but nothing changed.

Actually all the versions are crashing on paperspace (P5000), except ray32 using 32 bits (which is the orginal one you can find here: http://www.computer-go-ray.com/dlmagicV ... indows.zip).pleiade67 wrote:Same symptom here with a virtual machine running Win 10 on a Mac. The cloud PC is not virtual box, it is a streaming service of a real powerful computer based somewhere in the world. LeelaGPU accelerated works perfectly fine on it. It has destroyed Zen 6 of my real PC (CPU i5 6400).
I think the service providing the cloud pc blocked a function needed to run Ray. All I can say is that Zen 6 and Leela are working on this cloud computer. Also the CNTK files are already in the folder so I don't think you have to download it, but maybe there is something to download in order to allow CNTK working indeed.pnprog wrote:Never tried on cloud, but just to be sure, did you install CNTK as well? https://github.com/Microsoft/CNTK/releases

It was not necessary for me to install CNTK on the previous releases. The files are provided In the bundle.

Do CUDA and CuDNN need to be installed separately? I already had them installed before I tried Rayon for the first time, so I can't tell how that dependency works.
Have you tried the --no-gpu flag?

I dunno but one thing is sure: Rayon is way too complicated to use for the moment. We need an app.exe for users. Fortunately, Leela and Zen will release soon a new version which should match Rayon.Satorian wrote:Do CUDA and CuDNN need to be installed separately? I almost tried all the commands as --no-gpu, --reuse-subtree, etc.

I've run Ray 4.20.4 via Sabaki and it works more or less fine. Video GTX1080
