There was some study I read about where participants got to select a poster that they wanted to keep, given a few choices. In one group, that was all there was to it. In the second group, they were required to explain their choice.
Six months later, both groups were surveyed on whether they liked their choice. The group that provided explanations for their choice didn’t like their posters as much as the group that just picked based on instinct.
Sometimes, the curse of Malkovich game is the push to explain your decisions in a logical manner. Logic is a good thing, but some ability or strength comes from intuition or unexplainable factors.
On the other hand, bad habits and moves are also often difficult to explain with logic.

Not much of a choice here I think, though I'm surprised he didn't play C2, that's more complicated, which should benefit him.
I guess he'll clamp next, so I should start thinking about weather to descend or connect.
Sidenote: Now that I did not play it, I looked up the attachment in response to his approach, seems like it has a rather straightforward variation and would have likely been a better response.
Small regrets, but at least I learned something.

I don't think I can feasably descend here. Because of his stones on top I have no good response to B4. At least not one that I am comfortable with. I should have postponed looking up the variation I omitted until after the game, I'm feeling less and less good about this.
Next I think he will connect out and I'll need to think of a followup. I think I can no longer just be satisfied with the corner, maybe switching to the outside and aiming at K8 is a better plan. If I can keep him to one eye in the corner then something like F3 is worth looking at.
Not unexpected, the most straightforward reply would be the iron pillar, but I think I have quite a few options here, so I'll take some time to read them out.
Besides, I have to make sure my corner is safe before I start locking up the right.

This isn't really a good move, more like the least terrible that I can come up with.
Iron pillar and tenuki are out, I just don't think my corner could handle either (I really wish I was better at reading x.X)
I looked at all the moves around the F4 area, and all of them look slow and weak. I also coudnn't find anything good that guarantees that I can cut him if he tenukies.
This one seems ok at least, its fast and if he tries to cut either of the large knights I get some more moves against his stones at the bottom.
