As far as I can see the it works well. I even used one gmail account to test and received an email immediately with a 6-digit code. I don't know what else I can suggest.

To be absolutely sure, the correct sequence of action is:

at the registration form, type your email in the second line; then click the Chinese characters at the end of the third line. Doing these will have an email sent to you with a validation code. Use that code to complete the form to get your account.

Hi macelee,

That's what I did. I typed a username for "Name", then my gmail address on Line 2, then I clicked Send.
A count-down appears (from "30" seconds down to zero). I check my gmail, nothing.
I tried this both from an iPhone Safari, and on a Mac OS Firefox -- same result, nothing in my gmail account.

You're in the UK, and here is CA. That shouldn't matter... but you never know.

Oh, well.

Sorry to hear that. I really don't know what's went wrong. If you have burning desire to use this service, another alternative is to get a Wechat account first, then login by scanning the QR code using Wechat. Wechat can be used to log in many to Chinese services so having it on your phone is not a bad idea. BTW, wechat itself is designed very properly for international users so nobody should experience any difficulties getting that sorted.

When you say "Windows and MacOS", you probably think of using Yikeweiqi from PCs. You can play games from a web interface (http://portal.yikeweiqi.com/online/index/index.html) without any software installation, although that web page still requires translation.

But a translation of the webpage to english is planned? Because the server sounds interesseting but i only play from my laptop and with it being MacOS my server options are limited. (I'm currently starting playing again and i'm unsure which server should become my main server)

Edit:
I tried the server today. Registering through the android-app and using the webpage with Google Chrome translation. However i was not able to play (yet). It is to note that the Yike asks you your real name for "identification purpose" and this is apparently also manually verified. After registering (i only entered my first name) i was not able to start a new game as i was in "real name review". A few minutes ago, around three hours after registering, that verification failed. Apparently i can try to re-verify (i assume i can edit the real name i entered) and at the moment i'm unsure if i want to give them my real name (and i wonder how they actually try to verify it).
Just for your information, if you consider using this server.

If you can contact them, that would be great. The 3rd-party SDK thing is indeed a common reason. The newest version, 6.0.500, released on 2018/05/16, has the same problem.
The developer just informed me that the above problem has been fixed in the latest version. You can download it from Google app store. It is indeed a problem with a third-party library which, I understand, has been replaced.

It looks like to get this through, I needed to install the app, ignore the Lookout warning (which is still happening), then install the in-app update for GoLinks, then rescan.

This is connected to this electronic go board (https://detail.youzan.com/show/goods?al ... oupmessage), right?

If so, I have a couple questions. Is there a web page with specs and ordering details in English for the board? Is it only integrated with an Android app? Will an iOS version of the app be available soon?

Please could you tell us which functionalities you have to pay for?

Besides this, can I use this app if I am in China? (The one in English)

Thanks

Hi Macelee,

Thanks for sharing the information!

One question, are you somehow working at GoLinks/YiKe?
I am the author of GoReviewPartner, a small software aimed at assisting reviewing a game of Go. Give it a try!

Yes, the electronic go board has been designed by the same company. You can control the hardware via the app on your mobile phone while both are connected to your home Wifi.

I am not aware of a website describing the board in English.

There is an IOS version of the app too:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/%E5%BC% ... 82022?mt=8

Unfortunately that is not translated into English. I can sort of understand the decision - I got involved in the translation project for the Android app and it's by far the most complex translation project I've seen.

Thanks, I downloaded the iOS app and will try to figure out how to use it.

I am very tempted by the board, which I would like to take to a club if it can be used to automatically record games played on it. Unfortunately, I cannot understand Chinese, and using Google translation on the web site seems pretty garbled.

You can use the app in China - it is a universal app.

There is an e-currency called 'beans' in this app. You are giving a small amount of beans for free and you can purchase additional beans using real money. Then these beans can be spent on advanced functionalities, mainly AI related. For example you can get so-called hawk-eye report analysing professional games (effectively using ELF analysing games on very high-spec hardware, generating all kinds of useful statistics); you can have positional judgement while watching a game (you get 10 free chances per day after that you can pay for additional); you can play against AI players with all strength from beginner to pro level (you pay more to play stronger AI); when going through the L&D library in the app (~3000 problems), you can spent beans to get hint.

Thank you for your detailed answer.
I am currently in China with an Android so I have problem to access Google store. Is there other way to download the app?
Thanks for your time answering.
