gamesorry's log for amazing moves

Post by gamesorry »

I'd like to share some amazing moves (or actually the moment before they're played) I've seen in real games :D

Ouch, that's more fun if it happens to somebody else.

Thanks for sharing.
If something sank it might be a treasure. And 2kyu advice is not necessarily Dan repertoire..

Empty triangle kills Black centre? It can't connect north due to knight cut that is elephant jump connected. Some aji to the right but seems white is safe without giving eye by 2nd line atari.

Very nice idea for a new thread!

My attempt for the 1st position:
B plays D6. After w captures, b throws in at D6 again. W cannot make an eye, and the whole upper left corner gets grounded.
Edit: 2nd position:
B kills lower right corner

Perfect timing gamesorry, a place for mining idea's for 'my favorite moves':
When in Atari,
Or worse, Haned
At the head of two stones,
I just think of a few of my favourite moves
And I want to play! More Go

Oh dear...
Position 1
D6 seems to reveal a false white eye...
Position 2
First instinct T2—appears to kill.
On Go proverbs:
"A fine Gotation is a diamond in the hand of a dan of wit and a pebble in the hand of a kyu" —Joseph Raux misquoted.

Aren't you guys answering problems from last year as if they were just posted?

Oh, yes! The thread went to the top for some reason, the month fits, and I didn't look at the year number. Apart from that, some problems take quite some time to solve, at least for me ... :blackeye:

The most recent one I answered is from just now, the others are older but thankfully go problems don't have expiry dates :)

Problems don't have expiry dates, but I thought expressions like "new thread" or "perfect timing" were odd to answer *only* the old problems, but not the new one.
