Funny game (How to deal with 3-3 and how not to)

Post by Gomoto »

How not to play the sanrensei

4x early 3-3 invasion

Black plays awful anti joseki 2 times against early 3-3 (he hoped white would connect and not go for the kos) and white shows how to handle 3-3 correctly ;-) (Black got unlucky somebody tried this trick joseki already on me)

I managed nearly to throw away my big strategic advantage with one ugly and carless tactical move (Like I usually do recently). Do you find the potential game loosing move by white?
Looking forward to your candidates.

I like the big exchange and capturing of the big lump of stones (the 3x3 square full of black stones, adore the clunky shape  )

First idea: failure to e14 ladder or prevent k11 bulge.

failure to play at E14 (91%) was a big mistake but white is still ahead after the white mistake F16 (74%)

D13 and D10 are sente and white finally gets to play at K11, no big mistakes here

The awful move by white happened in the upper right corner later in the game

Oh, q18 should be r18 so the corner is locally alive instead of unsettled L+1 in the case you lose ko.

That is the kind of tactical mistake I make in all of my games once per game.

Speaking of fun san ren sei games, here's one I played at a tournament 2 days ago (he likes that double kosumi, we've done this kind of thing before).
