What I like most about go? (Reddit question.)

Post by Gomoto »

watching Go Seigen well advanced in years looking at the go board

touched me deeply

I focused anew at the game. Go will be my companion till the end.
After answering the reddit question I just read this quote by Go Seigen

You might think study is meaningless for me, since I retired so many years ago. But for people who play it, Go is like an eternal friend, a permanent art form. I’ll continue playing and studying Go. Probably just like you.

There's a lot to like in this game (aesthetics, history, challenge, community), but I think my favorite thing is the way such a delightfully complex game emerges from such a simple set of rules and components.

If I try to highlight the most attractive side of go, I choose the object of the game: to share.

To play/practice/get better in an art of sharing.
And not being restricted in it by some artificial complexity thanks to a so primitive set of rules.

Wonderful pics, if anyone got one of Fujisawa Shuko,I would love that too
