Colorful plastic stones
I Stumbled upon this image on Pinterest. Red, green, yellow, and blue plastic stones in colored plastic bowls. They would make a terrific gift for a couple of aspiring go players I know who have absolutely no interest in tradition; they just want to play “that cool game in the anime”. Apparently a Korean toy from several years ago, they are no longer available anywhere that I can find using my basic research skills.

Does anyone have a clue?

Re: Colorful plastic stones
Deeper searching and use of free translators have described these Flower Baduk Stones as being made of glass and they came in clear and frosted versions, so a total of eight variations. Available once upon a time at wholesale from the “TradeKorea” website, they seem to have been manufactured by DreamEntry, Inc. which is still in business but these are no longer listed on their largely indecipherable site. Over the last fifteen years or so numerous inquiries have been posted at go discussion sites across the web. None of those threads have led to a supplier.

Here is a go board from 6brothers: http://m.6brothers.net/product/detail.h ... ay_group=1
The way the legs are done might appeal to people wanting to make their own board with legs but are intimidated by carving the Japanese style legs.
P.S. The board illustrated costs about 17,000 USD

Re: Colorful plastic stones
Here is another Korean board with nontraditional legs. I suppose I could use colored glass stones on it, too, if I could obtaint the stones in the States.

Re: Colorful plastic stones
Thank you, everyone, for viewing the thread and contributing information. I found these on the Aoyama Go Banten site:
http://www5b.biglobe.ne.jp/~goban/g1go7 ... reen1.html
http://www5b.biglobe.ne.jp/~goban/g1go7 ... blue1.html
An order that includes both sets, EMS air shipping, and maybe some of those funky plastic bowls, total comes to about $500.
Y’all were a lot of help.
