Yes. And I almost got a game in my vacation area too, but it's conflicting with a local tournament. Bad luck, but it almost worked :D

(still no registered players in my area :()

I feel sorry for the guy who is apparently the only player in the whole of Africa!

At least he probably wins all his tournaments.

Thanks for implementing notifications about new users near me :)
You should add an option to disable them though.

One thing I would like to see is an inbox / outbox system displaying the status of your messages. Right now you send a message and it disappears into thin air, there is nothing to indicate if you have sent it or if it is read. This would be really helpful to help organize our communications.

If I understood him correctly messages are just emails, and emails have no read status.

Ubuntu, firefox: When I type in the username field to enter my user name to log in, it selects the text as I'm typing, so that the next letter I type replaces everything in the field. Very annoying. (A few other fields seem to do it, too)

Other than that, very nice site. I registered myself and my club.

In Kubuntu 9.04 with KDE 3.5.10 and Firefox 3.6.6, I do not have the problem that Daniel is reporting.
We don't know who we are; we don't know where we are.
Each of us woke up one moment and here we were in the darkness.
We're nameless things with no memory; no knowledge of what went before,
No understanding of what is now, no knowledge of what will be.

I'm at the moment getting a kick out of the fact that Eugene, OR (my home) has more members than Portland to the north. Hah! Take that, PDX! (I know, it won't last.)

But it can last! We just have to make sure no one in Portland finds out about it! It can't be that hard, either. I mean, how many people in Portland could possibly have Internet access?

Kind of reminds me of how the map currently stands. Who knew we had more Go players in Montana than in most bigger cities/more populous states around the country? ;)

Looking forward to this thing taking off even more than it has and adding new people.

Indeed, it is pretty exciting every time I get an email about a new Go player in the area. Thus far, it's been people I either know or am somewhat familiar with, but hopefully people I've never met or heard of will start signing up at some point. :D

This idea is so awesome. Maybe it's a first small step towards the global go-society getting less virtual.

It's worth noting that I have a game tomorrow with someone who's in my neck of the woods on vacation. It's quite impressive, because I live in The Middle of Nowhere. So, thanks!
