The first Go player I know about who died of the disease was Angelo Grazzini, died on March 21st 2020, he was a volunteer helper with the EGC in Pisa.

Damn. So sorry to hear this. I never met David in person, but encountered him often on KGS, where his tireless contributions to welcoming new players and helping them get off to a good start will surely be missed.

David was a regular at the New York Go Center two decades ago. He was as nice in person as he was online.
