Yes! Among things in the japanese culture that I like are go, judo, sumo, and the food. Are you one as well?

Nice! I did judo for a while as a child, yes, but I switched to other martial arts. I still benefit from practising the art of falling, though : )

Ah! the art of falling. :D

If I may reminisce. :) Until the 7th grade I was the smallest guy in my class. Then a kid moved to town who was smaller than I and I was the second smallest kid in my class. I got picked on a lot. In 6th or 7th grade I discovered a book on jiujutsu in our local library, a translation of a Japanese book written in the early 20th century. I remember that the author recommended not taking more than 3 baths a day. ;) A friend and I practiced a bit.

One day at recess another kid grabbed my shirt and tried to shove me to the ground. He succeeded, but I executed an ankle throw. Fortunately, he only got the wind knocked out of him and held no grudge. :)

----

In other news, when I was living in Honolulu, one of the go players lived in an apartment building which also housed a number of Samoans as well as a number of martial artists. He told me that if you got into a fight with one of the Samoans, they all ganged up on you. He also said that on Friday nights he could look out his window around 9 o'clock and see several Samoans flat on their backs in the parking lot. ;)

I've definitely put judo to good use more than once as well. Really a fan of the sport
