Howdy from Tulsa

Post by JimHSoars »

Hi all, it's nice to meet you.

I tried to learn Go in 2015 but had to put it on the back shelf. Now I'm working at learning this tough and interesting game. I have been playing bots on KGS. There is so many bots there I wonder if KGS is becoming a major site to test Go playing software. I also created a presence on OGS (online-go.com) but have not played there yet.

So I'm currently rated 24k? on KGS. I think that's to high but I guess at that level it doesn't matter much. I hope to be a dan player someday (soon?)

I have some books I read in the past but don't remember much. So I'l read them again. I have the impression most newbies learn via videos these days. Well I'm 64 so that doesn't occur to me often. Besides I already have the books.

Well I look forward to conversing with all of you.

Jim

Howdy, Jim,

Welcome to the wide world of go. :)

Your rating won't matter for a year or so. Not to worry.

The main thing is to have fun. :)
