Here is a shot of the bottom (not sure what the marking is of) also attaching a pic of my Hyuga shell and slate stones not sure of the wood of the bowls but I love how they look!
I took the time to attach your pictures here so that the people here with more qualified expereience than me can help you with the wood of both goban and goke and the meaning of the marking on the bottom.

Very happy for you, a wonderful find that you will prize for many years. The bowls appear to be chestnut. Those marks on the bottom surface? Obviously the blood of transgressors. Please post additional observations as they happen.

Thanks very much! Lol and yes the blood of transgressors mwahahahaha. So far the bowls look closest to the pictures of Mulberry bowls I have found online. I definitely already prize the set, it has been great to relax and play games on so far.
