Reporting botters or not?

Post by kvasir »

Should one report botters to the office or just not bother?

Are there any more details available? How do you know for sure?

I play on IGS on 1m 5/25 settings and hope that no one will both to use a bot for a fast game. I'd be disappointed if that's not the case.

Occasionally I play (or watch a game of) players that not only play about perfectly, not just one game but almost every game and usually they start from very low rank and play 10+ 10/25 games every day for months. Often with 20+ wins in a row, only broken by timeouts or a game that is much lower quality play. I often analyze games with KaTrain, even other games if something piques my interest.

The way I know is the perfect play, the number of games and constant activity. It would be ridiculous if a top professional was to spend every day for months playing 10-20 games with players that have no chance and always play perfectly until they resign. Still playing about perfectly when leading by 100+ points and just never letting up. Professionals wouldn't be able to play so perfectly anyway. It must be botters.

I am not so much talking about possible discreate cheating. I am sure that happens but there are so many level to that and it is not really the same. It is more the annoyance when you play someone like that then anything else especially because most opponents are very nice on Pandanet. It is not so nice to be destroyed by bots.

So, I was wondering if it is worth the bother to report such accounts.

Why not report one of them and check later if the account is banned?
