Recently, I have used Youtube a bit to view PC tech videos and occasionally participate in discussions. The experience has been bad: the more useful information I contribute the more likely my comments are deleted. Apparently, Youtube uses a terribly weak algorithm to delete comments allegedly violating their terms.
In one case, the only likely explanation for my message being deleted was that it contained the words game + gamble, which I used figuratively.
In another case, I supported my stated facts by linking to an objective source.
It is no wonder that most Youtube messages are devoid of contents merely expressing Yes or No.
Is this only my experience, have you made different experiences in Youtube discussions or what have I been doing wrong other than not having been an opinion- and information-less user? If Youtube is only happy with users watching and liking videos, then why does it offer discussion at all?

Re: Youtube deleted comments
The first comment was deleted within seconds. The second comment was deleted within a few minutes. Both comments were on-topic, helpful, very informative, more informative than all / most other users' comments and constructive. Therefore it is very likely that Youtube deleted but the channel owners did not delete.

Re: Youtube deleted comments
After a bit more experience, I think this is it. Some tech channel owners having quit the tiny stage and trying to grow large enough to live from their channel seem to control all comments non-stop and delete everything that is not of the "You are the best!" kind. They delete facts because of threatening their "best knowledge" image and they delete other opinion / discussion as threatening their "sole source of information" image.jlt wrote:Some video owners don't like to be criticized.
Note that there are also other channels that cultivate broad discussion, tolerate every opinion and promote free speech.

Re: Youtube deleted comments
Yes, in the case of my greatest effort of writing a message. The channel owner has not answered my question whether Youtube or he (and possibly why) deleted.
