The field is a little weaker than usual I suppose, since nobody from Russia will play and quite a few others who qualified aren't taking part - for example Pavol Lisy.

Day 1 brought quite a few upsets. Frejlak, Debarre, and Le Calve dropped points.
With the 1-1-0 drops out and 0-1-1 or 1-0-1 goes through system, there is still all to play for.
