Oh, it's unusual to do this sort of thing publicly! People who self-nominate aren't always the most detached and objective mods. Where I've been a mod on other sites, it's happened by the existing mods PM-ing people whose posts look constructive.

Having said that, I'm willing to help out here.

I'm not a volunteer, but where I'm modding with xela, I've seen him doing a wonderful job.

If somebody would like to help moderate the forum, why shouldn't they volunteer? Some argue that anyone who asks for such a role must be a power hungry censorious maniac, that might be true, but it presumes rather more than it ought to.
