Does anyone have this? I'd love to know what you think of it. I can't decide if it would be perfect for hauling around to the go club / restaurants, or if playing on leather would be annoying. Given than I currently play on a vinyl roll-up mat, I guess it's an upgrade.

According to your link only the case is leather.
Still officially AGA 5d but I play so irregularly these days that I am probably only 3d or 4d over the board (but hopefully still 5d in terms of knowledge, theory and the ability to contribute).

I think this is quite low quality. I've seen similar "looks antique" games for Xiangqi and Mahjong as well and I don't like them at all.
You can buy these for about $14 in the markets in China and I'm sure they're making quite a good profit on them.
And yes I'm pretty sure it's only the case that has (fake) leather coverings, possibly the game is smaller than standard and well the color is just wrong.
Edit: it says the board is covered with leather, which IMNSHO makes it less atractive

That's what I always thought too, but looking more closely at the text I found this: "...the board is made of wood with leather stretched over it."
It seems intriguing, but not something I'd want to spend $80 with shipping on just to see it.

That's pretty much what I suspected. Thank you.
I really just want something that is semi-nice, but that ultimately if I destroy it via food, beer, and general abuse I won't really care. The vinyl + glass setup that I have now is virtually indestructible, and immune to the horrors of Buffalo Wild Wings (its most played at location).
