The magnifier seems to work fine when I'm playing a stone near the bottom. Understandably, the issue crops up when a stone is played at the top of the screen where there is no room for the magnifier there. It seems like it can't make up it's mind between left and right. So, as I'm trying to adjust my finger to either see the magnified area or if I'm still zeroing in on where I want to play the magnifier tends to jump around left to right or the reverse.TimKington wrote:The magnifier should appear above your finger, and it has a stone in the center that
shows where you're placing the stone. If you get close to the top of the screen it
moves to the left or right so you can still see it.
TimKington wrote:Has anyone but grillapa installed Guan Zi Pu? I haven't had any trouble with it.
I'm trying to get an idea of where his problem is coming from.
grillapa, when you had the crash, had the problem set been completely unpacked?
Did the add collection screen say complete before you tried to select the set?
You shouldn't be able to leave the screen until it's done, but maybe it's possible.
Do you remember exactly what you did before the crash? Was it right when you tapped
the collection to choose it?
Kirby wrote:I would still really like to see the magnifying glass fixed. I use other iphone go apps, such as SmartGo Pro, for example, without any problems.
But with this gogrinder app, whenever I click on an intersection, the magnifying glass shows up two intersections BELOW where I clicked. This happens consistently, and not just around the edges. It happens even in the center of the board. It's really annoying.
Thanks again for your work on this.TimKington wrote:I found and fixed a crash - I think it's the one Grillapa is seeing.
I'm ready to release the next version - added a high score feature like
the Java version, and cleaned up a bunch of bugs and minor annoyances.
The magnifier moves around smoothly now, so that's a lot nicer.
I don't think I'm seeing the magnifier issue, but I want to fix it before
doing an update. Let me make sure I understand.
When you touch the board, and the magnifier comes up, the stone in the magnifier
that you're about to play shows up too low on the board? Is that right?
So when you play the stone, it winds up where the magnifier shows it, but you have
to move up first?
What board size were you seeing this on? Does it happen on every problem,
or only sometimes?
This is the same as what I see. And I concur: Thanks for all of your work on this.judicata wrote:...

This shows up in all sets I've tried so far, including "Basic Tsumego."
Your description seems right: When I touch the screen where I want to place the stone, the magnifier comes up, but is focused on a different spot (I think it is always lower). I then move it around to figure out where it is. When I play the stone, it goes to the spot shown in the magnifier.
I'll try to take a picture. This is on a 3GS with OS version 3.1.3 I think (not 4.0).TimKington wrote:What OS are you seeing the problem on?
I'm running on 4.0 on an iPod Touch, and I tried it last
night on a friend's iPhone with 4.0. Neither one shows the
problem.
Can you take a picture of the issue maybe?
I would definitely appreciate it. Thanks again for your efforts!TimKington wrote:Ugh! I was hoping it wasn't version-related, but it looks like it probably is.
Can anyone else who has GG post and tell me your OS version and whether you see the problem?
Apple makes it impossible to test on older OS versions once you have upgraded, so I
won't be able to see this myself, but if everyone with 3.x is seeing it, I guess
I could check the OS version, and just move the stone up in that case.
On the most recent OS, I do not see the problem.TimKington wrote:Can anyone else who has GG post and tell me your OS version and whether you see the problem?
