I've been using google sites to teach for fun and wanted to share this tool.
One can post .sgf game files, .pdf files, videos etc, which can be used for homework assignments or game reviews. It is also to make a google site private so that all content is private.
It is also possible to embed html in google sites if you want to add apps such as the comment box by using the gadget "Code wrapper."
You can, in effect, set it up like a moodle site http://moodle.org/ except I have not yet found an way of making sure students turned in assignments or password protecting or restricting certain documents such as tsumego solutions in google sites.
Please review my site or report back any issues.

Re: Using Google Sites to Teach
nice initiative.
just a few very quick comments.
What is your connection to the Tiger Mouth? I see you posted a similar message on their forum. you do not accept non tiger mouth members?
explain what the Tiger Mouth is (the American Go Foundation's site for kids and teens)
some pictures would be nice
make the web links clickable (maybe put the Tiger Mouth link in a more prominent place.

Re: Using Google Sites to Teach
tiger's mouth is exactly what you said: (the American Go Foundation's site for kids and teens).

i'm nothing more than just a member of tigersmouth.org.
the site i created was nothing more than initiative to help members on tigersmouth.org.
I originally wanted to keep my lessons just for tigersmouth.org members or at least give them higher priority, because it is the youth/teens in America that my endeavors are directed toward.
Now, since the site has been up for about 1 month, if more people are interested, I will be happy to teach them.
Also, I'm currently a college student so I wanted to note that "I'm giving free Go Lesson's during the fall 2010 school semester." I'm going to be busy next semester and plan on just teaching this semester.
btw, nice site. ideally, i would want to create a site like yours but at this time, i lack the expertise to do so.
