So, I like the idea of a teamovitch, and I've been enjoying doing DDK reviews lately, so I thought I'd hit birds with stones, and do both at once. Would anyone be up for a DDK version of Topazg's suggested teamovitch game? We'd need one other captain around my level who's willing to write up lots of explanations, and as many DDK players as are willing to give it a shot. The other captain doesn't actually have to be that close to my rank, as I'd prefer an active/teachy captain to one my level who doesn't explain much to his team.

Is there any interest?

Again, the rules, as posted by Topazg are as follows:
Inspired slightly by a combination of the Malkovich games and the Sensei's WuRenGo games, I wondered if anyone would be interested in the following:

Two "captains", somewhere [SDK+] I guess, but reasonably matched to each other, responible for making the moves, BUT...

There are three [or so] weaker players in each team, maybe [Anything DDK] or something, who have to nominate their move, and why. When the captain picks the move, he has to discuss his opinion of the pros/cons of each of three moves, and can only pick one of the three suggested. Play then moves to the other team, and it repeats. The captains do not nominate a move, just pick one nominated by the rest of the team.

To keep the game moving, any member can suggest sequences / josekis etc that are behind their thoughts, and provided the game continues along the relevant line each subsequent move can be assumed to be their given nomination unless they say otherwise.

That sounds like it could certainly be quite interesting - I'd be happy to be a team member.

Presumably when the remaining 3 players sign up :)

There must be someone or two from the DDK tournaments interested in this one ?

Any other players 10 kyu or pluskyu interested in this? If not, we can maybe come up with alternate rules to work with smaller teams, but it sounds pretty fun to me, as-is. =)

Great, that's four players. =) I'll give it a little more time, so that two more players can join if they want, but if not, this may be enough to start.

Don't worry! You're already in. Topazg was giving a shout out to some other ddks on the forum, asking if they want to join.

Looks like we're still one DDK player short - any more takers?

While I'm here, I'd also like some clarification on the rules for this game. Specifically, are the team-members allowed to read the hidden text behind their team-mates' move suggestions, or the reasons for the captain's decision?

Rules seem to be "normal Malkovich", plus:

1) Three soldiers suggest their moves, but are allowed to read each others' posts.
2) Captain responds to each suggestion, and picks a move. Soldiers can read all responses.
3) Captain may also make comments to observers only, but should tag it as such.
4) No team member can read the posts of the other team.
