Hello from down under

Post by ninjaboy »

Hi guys,

Grew up here in Australia, currently a university student. I am a beginner hoping to improve and learn from your valuable feedback here!

Finished reading Learn to play Go Vol. II and now reading III, then moving onto Tesuji by Davies

Not many people hear about go down here or not that many people play it. I find KGS sometimes a little unfriendly as a learning environment, being bullied and beaten then they run away doesn't really help me grow =( hopefully this is the place to help foster my skills! :salute:

Howdy, and welcome. For friendly talk about go, this is the right place! If you have any questions or need any help, let us know, and surely somebody around here will be able to help.
Someday I want to be strong enough to earn KGS[-].

Sorry to hear that KGS isn't working well. I had a decent experience when I was first on there, and I was very weak indeed. Maybe the KGS teaching ladder is a place to get instruction from time to time.

There's also the beginners room, but I don't know much about that.

Yes, and the people who pop into the L19 room are usually quite friendly. Feel free to chat in there and ask questions.

Be sure to check out the KGS Teaching Ladder room too. There are lot of people there willing to give teaching games and help you improve! Message me sometime and I'd be happy to play you too. I lived in Australia for some years, its a great place!
