Re: no war !
WikiLeaks showed that even China, supposedly North Korea's biggest supporter, is actually critical of the North and in favor of unification. This seems like good news for the prospects of a peaceful outcome.

I think what they are in favor of is any situation which doesn't result in refugees flooding across their borders...

Re: no war !
What is the point of this thread?
We don't know who we are; we don't know where we are.
Each of us woke up one moment and here we were in the darkness.
We're nameless things with no memory; no knowledge of what went before,
No understanding of what is now, no knowledge of what will be.

Re: no war !
The point of this thread is : When war begin. Most of pros will escape propably to Japan or other countries and stop playing. Or maybe join army. Some of them are young boys. In the first Korean war there no excuses for army - you must join or die. So its better not happen again. Or Make Blitz - Zerg rush to unite koreas.
sorry for my english - im Marsian

This thread seems destined for breaking the 'no politics' rule. I'm already of half a mind to lock it, simply because of its subject. I ask that if you post here, please keep the posts on the subject of go and not politics.
Thanks

While this statement appears accurate, the conclusion is a bit simplistic. Lack of Chinese support is good news on a long term and mega level - it increases the chances of a Korean resolution and decreases the chance of a local issue becoming a global one.
However, it also, in my view, increases the paranoid desperation of the current regime, with no big brother to keep them in check - which, I believe, increases the chance of continuing danger in the short term.
Seoul is so close to the border - let us hope that baduk can be a part of what unites both parts of this one people and that we have no casualties in the baduk community, indeed, no more casualties at all.
The history I know tells me that Japan lost few "promising" pros in WWII - the problem with this sort of conclusion is we can never truly know what the promise is of those we lose.

... or send us into the ruines of a radioactive nuclear reactor,
because we have hands !
... or make us do anything else, be cause we are "matura".
I find this here a much better perspective:
because 'we' can play Baduk,
we could have diplomatic relations (analogy 'pingpong'),
because we have diplomacy, we could avoid war.

That's the final word, ...
... and end of thread (ADMIN, please close),
it will not be possible to keep this thread on 'war' board-game-related.
