Move 9: Think big! F3 or C10. If you must pick a fight prematurely, at least pick one that favors you with K17.
Move 15: Starting a second weak group...this does not bode well for you.
35: Too passive. Crosscut at F13 or double hane at H13.
37: L16 is better.
47: Now look at move 37. You have two stones at K15 and K16 doing the work that one stone could do at L16. Playing 37 at L16 would have saved you a move.
51: Just play the honte move. Take your second eye with G18 and make him worry about eyes.
75: Again, trying too hard to be too clever. Until you have C8, you can't really attack this group.
105: You have two weak groups. Your best bet is to try to kill the group between them. Throw in at H10 to short him on liberties, then K8.
141: Count liberties. You are ahead. Strengthen your weak spot with K6.

thanks for the speedy review! i totally overlooked that move 105, i'm pretty sure i would have normally seen that..i was just having an off day, didnt win a single game and dropped a rank :/
the rest makes perfect sense, funny how clear things become when other people point them out
thanks again

Re: 8k vs 9k...I played iffy :(
Both of you seemed to play moves like this (like at move
). Unless it is absolutely necessary, do not play this exchange. For instance, at move
, notice how you playing this exchange only introduced cutting weakness at L15, and made it easier for white to head to the right. Instead, if you're planning on playing at J11 anyway, play there immediately. We don't know who we are; we don't know where we are.
