I want an avatar with some personality, but I'm always at a loss for finding one. Any suggestions on where to look? Any specific image suggestions?
Maybe I'll use my own picture if I can identify a good one...

Re: Avatar
I recommend googling a dinosaur, then cutting the image down. =D

Re: Avatar
What are your interests? For example, if it's movies, animes, video games, etc., you could choose a picture of a character. If there's a musical group you like, you can choose a picture of the group or some artwork from one of their albums. (These two examples are basically all I've ever done.)
Ultimately, your avatar is an expression of you, and so while I understand why you might have a hard time finding one, I don't know how well anyone else can come up with an idea for you.
Edit: Speaking of Chew's avatar, I know I always thought that it was the head of some thin snake-like thing. I was shocked when I found the original image:

We don't know who we are; we don't know where we are.
Each of us woke up one moment and here we were in the darkness.
We're nameless things with no memory; no knowledge of what went before,
No understanding of what is now, no knowledge of what will be.

Oooh, this is getting philosophical. Maybe I need a long period of self-exploration before I can truly find a meaningful avatar

You must not have had a dinosaur phase when you were a kid. I knew immediately it was something like an Ankylosaur.
Also, I'm seconding Dusk Eagle's suggestion. Just pick something expressing your interests. Even picking an image you think fits your personality or attitude. Or just pick something that makes you laugh (I think your current choice fits this, it gave me a chuckle).

Yes, brilliant! The alternative method is to challenge someone to a Malkovitch, then choose an avatar that directly opposes theirs. =) Option three is to change it to whatever image/macro Araban posts most recently, such as the ever-popular troll face.
But yes, I support the thought of a forum full of dinosaurs.

Re: Avatar
I don't, Robert Scott did. I'm just a fan of his work. If you like it, feel free to ask him to continue the series.
