Re: Starcraft II
Junshin, have you tried the IMYongHwa 3-Stalker Robo build? I've been having a lot of success with it on ladder against 4-gate. The only current ladder map you can't do it on is Scrap Station, since the ramp is too big to forcefield. (The back door Delta Quadrant poses an issue as well, but you might be able to solve that by walling off the back ramp; I'm not sure yet.)

Re: Starcraft II
The one that Artosis posted a video of? If that's the one, then yeah I have...it's a cool build, but there's two things I don't like about it. I find that when I do this build and that the opponent 3 gate robo's instead of 4 gate (sometimes it's hard to tell because in both instances they can accumulate a lot of CBs), then I am behind. Secondly, I find that this build is really restricted to smaller to medium sized maps; on larger ones (and the stranger ones like Scrap) I think the build is less effective because the proxy pylon is harder to find. I think this build really only shines if you know for absolute certainty that the opponent is 4-gating and the map isn't too large.MountainGo wrote:Junshin, have you tried the IMYongHwa 3-Stalker Robo build? Re: Starcraft II
Was very impressed with ThorZAIN, FD just looked totally outplayed; and once + always will be a Tyler fan
. Also, I thought the ruling they had for the disconnect in g1 between BoxeR and NightenD was very interesting: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmes ... _id=202554

Re: Starcraft II
Yeah, it's very difficult for me to swallow the idea of awarding a win to the disconnecting player, but their extremely thorough analysis left me feeling sympathetic to the decision and appreciative of the effort they put into making it and explaining it. You don't see that very often from tournament officials in any sort of game.Araban wrote:Was very impressed with ThorZAIN, FD just looked totally outplayed; and once + always will be a Tyler fan. Re: TSL 3
I was thinking the same thing. I initially thought "well, I think Boxer had it won, but I wonder what sort of standard they have to make that kind of ruling." And it seems like they have a very serious, well-thought-out standard.
Good job by ThorZAIN, but now my bracket is all messed up! The only foreigner I had beating a Korean is Jinro against Boxer in a later round.

Just a reminder, the deadline for ordering these is Wednesday, 23rd March 2011, 20:00:00 GMT. The guy managing the group order is back from vacation so everything is moving forward. It looks like we'll be producing two different size keys for all three races plus random. One will be the right size and profile to replace your Esc key (or any single-width key on the top two rows), and one will be the right size to replace your Windows keys (or any of the other modifiers on that row the same size). Some race/size combinations will be more expensive if they don't get up into the higher price breaks.
Here are the current prices; as you can see, they get a lot cheaper as the quantity goes up.
Code: Select all
SCWINTERRAN...............40 (Starcraft Terran-Shield 1.25 mod.) ($4/35 #1)
SCESCTERRAN...............28 (Starcraft Terran-Shield funct.) ($3/25 #1)
SCWINPROTOSS..............55 (Starcraft Protoss-Standard 1.25 mod.) ($3/50 #1)
SCESCPROTOSS..............39 (Starcraft Protoss-Standard funct.) ($3/25 #1)
SCWINZERG.................40 (Starcraft Zerg simplified 1.25 mod.) ($4/35 #1)
SCESCZERG.................34 (Starcraft Zerg simplified funct.) ($3/25 #1)
SCWINRANDOM...............14 (Starcraft Random 1.25 mod.) ($8/15 #1)
SCESCRANDOM...............18 (Starcraft Random funct.) ($3/25 #1)Again, these are for Cherry MX mechanical keyboards. That includes Filco Majestouch, Razer Blackwidow, Steelseries 6Gv2 and 7G, Rosewill RK-9000, Leopold, and quite a few other keyboards.

Re: Starcraft II
^ Ordered
.
Anyways, GSTL s2? Delivered. SlayerS_Alicia is definitely up there on my list of favorite Brotosses now (along with Tyler, HuK, MC, and Tester), his PvZ and especially his PvT are sick. If I played Terran, MMA would also be someone I'd study, he is truly a "Legend Killer". How the series ended was just perfect too, can't wait for the 3rd season.

Re: Starcraft II
I'm still at work (and will be until late), so I haven't gotten to watch the VODs yet.

Re: Starcraft II
I finally decided to stop being a cheap bastard and actually support eSports and buy a GomTV season pass, for the GSTL2. Sounds like I have some good stuff to look forward to as I watch the VODs over the next week. The only thing I don't really like about watching tournaments is when neither player is my race. It's still fun enough to watch, but I'm not staring wide-eyed at the screen, mind racing as I try to evaluate everything I see and improve my understanding of the matchup. Is there perhaps some way to still glean things from non-Protoss matches that can help my play?

Not much I think. I also tend to not watch any non-Protoss matchups unless there's a big name playing (MVP(T), NesTea(Z), etc.) and even when I do watch, I go from 'student-mode' to 'spectator-mode'. I pay less attention to details and just watch it no differently than I would a re-run of Man vs. Wild on Discovery Channel. This is one reason why I'm hoping to practice 2 races instead of 1; it'll cover 5 out of 6 matchups and enrich my experience as a spectator (and as a player of course). Now to pick between Z or T...
