Thrilling game full of mistakes

Post by SoDesuNe »

Move #5: I don't know this opening. I pondered if I should play similiar to the low-chinese but well, somehow decided against it ^^
Move #9: Yeah, big, maybe F3, N3 or N4 would have been a wiser choice instead of forming Kobayashi?
Move #10: Too agressive? I thought I needed some initiative.
Move #18: Guess Tiger-mouth is safer.
Move #20: I'm experimenting with this pincer lately but not very successful so far ^^ I think, in this situation a pincer is the right choice.
Mobe #22: Thank you, Black?
Move #30: Now I think a two-space-extension would have been better.
Move #32: Just one-space-jump better?
Move #36: I was afraid of coming under too heavy attack, if I don't run with this group. But I think, I'd be fine. J17 would be very good, nice territory.
Move #56: Terrible result at top...
Move #59: Questionmark.
Move #71: Was pushing so long a good idea? I felt pretty strong in the corner and wanted to have some influence if I'm going to reduce the bottom.
Move #76: Poor reading.
Move #88: T17 - of course.
Move #95: Thank you for giving me a comeback! =D
Move #99: Uhhh, troubling. Maybe I just should have killed the top right corner? But what about my corner? : /
Move #105: What now? Going just for life in the corner or trying to kill everything in a Ko? (No threats?)
Move #116: Not good, where to put this stone?
Move #124: I always wanted to play this ^^ Result is questionable.
Move #140: Very poor move... N4, at least.
Move #153: Too big to allow, I think.
Move #178: Time-trouble. Tenuki would have been fine, I think.
Move #188: Dangerous... Getting away with murder.
Move #207: E13 and thank you for the game.
Move #229: Losing move for Black.
Move #240: Losing move for White. Did not see what Black intended. Sad, but I hadn't deserve to win the game, I guess.

What are your thoughts? =)

Just one comment -- pushing from behind at moves 68 and 70 is bad style. Instead, look for an opportunity to get ahead in the chase with a monkey jump. You cannot do this at move 60 or 62, as a B cut would be difficult to handle. But you could do this from move 64 on (do you see why B could not cut?). Jumping ahead would let you keep the large B group from connecting to the waiting stone at K4, giving a strong attack.

Hi,

I would prefer move 30 somewhere around c9 / d9 instead of making the 44-64 enclosure. As it is, the D12 stone is getting uncomfortably close to black's wall, and black's pincer at 31 does a very good job of punishing that stone. In the game, the weakness of the group ends up costing W a tempo, as B35 @ J16 is ignored at great cost.
Keep in mind, I am frequently wrong.
