Nice! Also I think Lee Sedol vs. Park Yeonghun and Cho U vs. Choi Cheolhan should be exciting games.

I'm most interested in the Kim Jiseok - Yuki Satoshi match. Hoping Yuki can pull through. Also, I hope Iyama goes far.

Holy Crap!!!!!!
What a fantastic draw :D Can't wait to see the games.

A few things:
This is Lee Sedol's sixth consecutive loss. Park Junghwan's 4th or 5th.

Holy Crap!!!!!!!!Again!!!!!!!!!
Lee Sedol, Gu Li, Kong Jie all out of the tournament!!!

Sakai Hideyuki lost on time in an international tournament again. He lost to Yoo Changhyuk on time in the last BC Card Cup.

I think Mr. Kin reshuffled his brackets again, so it'll be Lee Changho vs. Iyama Yuta in the second round. No rest for Lee.

indeed reshuffled, my posted results were (i hope) exactly in order of Kin's previous version of bracket (pairs were in order, single players somewhere switched)

does anyone know why these changes happen? official pairings not available or just Mr. Kin's mistake? no big deal, but it is always a surprise to see pairing changing

i haven't seen any of mentioned games, but couldn't it be that he was losing anyway and used up all remaining time thinking? just a possibility

From looking at the game record, he seemed to be behind ~5 points by my (bad) counting.
Keep in mind, I am frequently wrong.

I believe it's a lack of official pairings. The topic came up in an earlier tournament thread on the professionals board, but I can't remember where.

Around there sounds right.

I was a bit surprised because I don't usually see many international games decided by time. How much time do the players get?

It seems like the pairing for the next round is drawn after the completion of the previous round. If you look at the pairing you will notice that the pairing is done so as to minimize the number of pairs with players from the same country.

I think this goes for all the international tournaments, except the BC card cup.

BTW here is the official match table: http://baduk.lg.co.kr/eng/

Have fun understanding how Iyama became Lyama... Is it a typo or something more subtle is going on with pronounciations and transcriptions?
