2011 Congress - final results?

Post by gobert »

Does anyone know where I can find the final results of 2011 congress? e.g. US Open(zchecn?), NAMT, Pair, etc.

Thanks,

yeah, but have you looked at that page? It doesn't exactly give the tournament results -- you would have to calculate the tiebreaks yourself to figure it out

US Open:
1st - YongFei Ge 7d (Canada)
2nd - Michael Chen 7d
3rd - ZiYang Hu 1p (Canada; 13 years old)
(and many other division winners)

Masters (NAMT/NAIM):
1st - ZiYang Hu 1p (Canada)
2nd - Curtis Tang 7d

Strong Players Open
1st - Stephanie (Mingming) Yin 1p
2nd - ? Gan Sheng Shi 7d (Canada)

Redmond Cup (Senior) -- Calvin Sun
Redmond Cup (Junior) -- Aaron Ye

Pair Go -- ? Yuan Zhou and Roxanne Tam
(I think I recall seeing a photo on twitter -- but can't find it now)

Fair enough--I was thinking "results" in terms of how individuals performed. Obviously, people are more likely interested in the final standings.

Thanks all for the responses, just want to confirm Ge, not zchen, is the open champion. I saw someone said on kgs that zchen was #1

yeah, no. Michael beat Yongfei in the final round 6, such that there was a 3-way 5-1 tie between them, but Yongfei won out on tie breaks.

As USGO1, I even thought briefly myself (and commented), that that match would determine the winner, but I was wrong.

I have a great photo of them at their second pair go game. I can't wait to get home and post my photos...

I'm still working on cleaning up the US Open results for submission to the ratings database. Karoline can't help, because she's in the middle of relocating halfway across the country. Because of errors during registration, about 60-odd players, many from overseas, got in with a temporary AGAID. So far, it looks like more than half of them already had a permanent AGAID from previous years, but crosschecking it has been tedious work. (Didn't help that I was driving for two days, then couldn't log in to the tournament server for a couple days more because of an embarrassing luser error on my part. Apparently I'd moved the client to a different desktop, and forgotten where I'd put it.) Anyway, another hour or so, and I'll finally be sending it off to the ratings folks.
