Hey everyone,
I wanted to shoot some feelers out to the online community here about the AGA Wiki:
http://wiki.usgo.org
It's running into the problems that a wiki usually faces (defacing etc...) and so I'd like to ask the community for a favor. If each of you would be willing to check the recent changes every now and then, maybe add something new based on your understanding of AGA policy, tournament pairing programs, etc... I think we can make it a really powerful tool for information about the organization.
If 10 people on here check up on it once a week, I think it could be kept usable. If 10 people check up on it and contribute, I think we'd have an excellent online resource for people interested in furthering go in the US.
How bout it?

Not an AGA member, but why don't you just limit access to people who request it, rather than make it a fully open wiki?

Why is it restricted to rules and tournaments? Seems like it should be open for all AGA policies and procedures.
Still officially AGA 5d but I play so irregularly these days that I am probably only 3d or 4d over the board (but hopefully still 5d in terms of knowledge, theory and the ability to contribute).

It is not restricted to rules and tournaments. If you check closer it also has information about the AGAGD, Ratings, Congress, and Pairing programs. The first people to use the wiki used it for rules and tournaments the the few others have not changed much. If you have something to add, add it.

The wiki is restricted to registered users only. There aren't any emails that come from this system. I had to lock all the pages down due to one malicious user.

I'm looking at the Wiki -- seems to be about acid reflux. Time to get out my mop.

Wiki seems a little random (e.g. SQL code detail for projects that have little high level description). Who is it intended for?

Its intended for volunteers who work on aga projects for a central place to document stuff and junk*
*stuff and junk are highly technical words which would explode the forum if explained.

Help from folks to improve the quality of the wiki would be greatly appreciated.
