Nordic Go Academy! smartrobot as teacher and new fee policy!

Post by JeffChang »

http://www.nordicgoacademy.com/

Nordic Go Academy is a Go studying program for players ranging from 9 kyu to 3 dan. Participants will be placed into leagues with players of similar strengths and you will play 12 games per month against your league-members and get those games reviewed in high-quality by one of our teachers. For details please check http://www.nordicgoacademy.com/format/.

The teachers of the program are Antti Törmänen EGF 6 dan (Tien on KGS), Su Yang EGF 6 dan (Finnish8d and JeffChang on KGS) and Juri Kuronen EGF 5 dan (Namii on KGS). From this month we are delighted to tell you, that Jin Jing or Jack Jin, 2 dan professional from China (smartrobot 9d on KGS) will be our new teacher in the program, holding our simultaneous games twice a month, and may have him hold a few lectures as well. Besides, every Sunday we’ll have a study circle, including new theory that Antti learns while studying as insei! If you wanna know more about our teachers, please check out http://www.nordicgoacademy.com/teachers/ for more details.

The participation fee for NGA has historically been about 50 euros a month. As we have heard from many directions, however, that kind of money may still be difficult to come up with for, especially in case of students. Therefore, we are trying an audition-like experiment this October, and will be interested to see if it ends up being profitable enough or not!

Simply put, when making your registration, you are to state the amount that you would be willing to pay for a month of NGA participation. Unfortunately, due to Antti starting his insei training and Namii changing address, we have very limited capacity this month. We will first prioritize former students over new students, and then students willing to pay more over those willing to pay less. On Wednesday, October 5 at 22:00 CET time, we’ll close the registration for October league (which starts on 8 October), and inform the participants who got inside!

So, please don't hesitate and register on our website http://www.nordicgoacademy.com/register/, for NGA October League!

Well that's not the case sir. ^^ We still have plenty or room left for now. : )

Besides, making the registration doesn't cost you anything but only 1 minute of your time, why not? :)

EDIT: It seems the account of the user whom I was replying to no longer exists, making this post quite redundant as the answer had little to do with our program.

Please consider adding a photo of teachers to the website.
Having a face to go with names really helps when a student/teacher relationship is long distance.

An excellent suggestion!

We'll be looking into that.
