"A Chou" I believe is the Author... It is a very old book.
We're getting interesting responses to this.... I'll post the answer later..

Can you show an image (jpg/png) of the cover? Just want to know what your book looks like so we can figure out which Chinese book it is.

I can tell you I have a very different idea on what I would call "a very old go book".

BobC, just based on the 2 problems you've given so far, I think I would like your book a lot!
(; AB[cm][jo][dp][cq][jq][cr] AW[dj][fo][dq][eq][hq] C[Black plays.]; B[en] C[This calm move separates the lower group from the left side stone, strengthens Black's lower left side, and now threatens to take away White's base. Attacking immediately seems to just strengthen White, and leave Black thin.]; W[jr] C[So White creates some eye space.]; B[kr];W[ir];B[lq] C[Depending on the rest of the board, White may want to tenuki now, but Black has gained thickness on both sides.] )
Hopefully though, a strong player can point out what seems to be an elusive effective immediate attacking sequence.

I'd have to read carefully to convince myself that D5 wasn't necessary here. It may not be, but it looks like white might have some funny business in there otherwise.
That which can be destroyed by the truth should be.

The book title translates as "Weiqi
Excellent Moves Question and Answers" and is written by Fujisawa Hideyuki. Your "A Chou" is probably referring to the Chinese translator.
It's nice that you are sharing some problems from the book, but please select just a few problems from the book and don't share the whole book.
The problems you have shared so far are the first three problems from the first chapter "Joseki and it's surroundings".

somhow the google title is better. Is the an English translation? Sharing the whole book. This concerns me. We now have a thriving go club. Probably more members than that reading this thread. Shouldn't the owner be sharing the book with the club?

No English tranlation I'm aware of.
It's not a problem if you pass the book amongst your club member, but posting all the problems from the book on a public forum is a really bad idea.
I did more digging for you. This Chinese book is actually a translation of 秀行・手筋テスト which is the 12th book in the
Bessatsu Igo Kurabu series.

really interesting.. Do you know if 1] it is till in print? 2] does it have an ISBN number? Don't worry.. The prospect of typing out all the problems here is more daunting than any reprisal from the authors over copyright. Are there any equivalent Engish books? Of the books I know this seems to fill a gap. Indeed the guy teaching me asked if it was worth translating formally (i.e with permissions)
