Hi everyone! I'm a current graduate student who has taken up Go, but I would like to get better. I've been lurking here for a few days and, after seeing many suggest KGS Go, I created an account there a half-hour ago. I still have a "?" next to my KGS rank, but I can tell you all that I am around 30k.
I've watched a few youtube videos on the "Basic Go" channel and started to read Janice Kim's books. My only experience playing was on the KGS server against the Basic Bot (twice) and that's it. I have also played against other computer programs (GNU Go), but I am not getting better so I'd like to play actual people to improve!
