Hello everyone!
I recently joined the Canadian go Association. Once a month, they make a big tourney with a "korean-like" system. The player who performs the best climbs up division and the one that gets the worst results falls down one division.
I will submit every single of my CGA games here so I can learn from my mistakes.
In this game, I think I played pretty well but I still messed up my attack on the lower right corner (misred).

Shadowplay [8k?\]: About as strong as you.
Shadowplay [8k?\]: I haven't been playing for the past few months - on vacation.
Leyleth [6k\]: Where at?
Shadowplay [8k?\]: Just general vacation. Home from work. Went to France.

Leyleth [6k\]: salut

Leyleth [6k\]: Bye
cl3m7 [1k\]: bien joué
Leyleth [6k\]: Good luck for the rest of the tourney
Leyleth [6k\]: Pas vraiment... Je suis dans une mauvaise passe...
cl3m7 [1k\]: a vi ?

Shadowplay [8k?\]: About as strong as you.

Leyleth [6k\]: Ouaip

If you had a handful of stones on the lower side, this might be a worthwhile move, but as the board stands, the basic proverb that corners are worth more than sides applies, and he gets more than you do.

Leyleth [6k\]: thanks for the game
Shadowplay [8k?\]: Since you won, you get to report it.
Leyleth [6k\]: Yeah, I'll do it
Leyleth [6k\]: You're strong
Shadowplay [8k?\]: About as strong as you.
Shadowplay [8k?\]: I haven't been playing for the past few months - on vacation.
Leyleth [6k\]: Where at?
Shadowplay [8k?\]: Just general vacation. Home from work. Went to France.
Leyleth [6k\]: Sweet!
cl3m7 [1k\]: salut
Leyleth [6k\]: salut
Shadowplay [8k?\]: Have fun. Bye.
Leyleth [6k\]: Bye
cl3m7 [1k\]: bien joué
Leyleth [6k\]: Good luck for the rest of the tourney
Leyleth [6k\]: Pas vraiment... Je suis dans une mauvaise passe...
cl3m7 [1k\]: a vi ?
