Good online lessons (group teaching)

Post by Kansai-ben »

I wanted to subscribe to guo juan`s group classes but in the japanese time her lessons are beeing held at 2:30 a.m.

therefore I wanted to ask if you have some other recommendations regarding online group lessons?

like her lessons it should be about EUR 10 - 14 for 1.5 hrs.

HI Kansai-ben,

You could subcribe for 1-year Audio go lesson on Guo Juan website.
It cost less than 10,000 yen . The benefit is you could watch lots of lesson anytime for 1 year :)

I also recommend the onine lectures, though that doesn't really solve your problem; group classes are much more involved and include reviews of your games (and your classmates' games).

At this point, I'm not aware of any other group lessons. According to her website, Guo Juan will consider forming a class or workshop for a group of friends who want to take the class together. But she's in the Netherlands, so scheduling a time would still be a problem.

Greetings,
I have the same problem as Kansaiben.I am in the lower group so it starts at 12 on Sunday night and I am so wired afterwards I cannot sleep anyway.
Working today is not fun.
But I can tell you it is worth every ounce of pain.
The quality of tuition, concentrated training etch. pays huge dividends. My game has altered radically within the last two weeks and seeing other players dissected as well as your own games is incredibly helpful.
I suspect I will look back on it as one of the best things I have ever done!
Cheers,
Buri

I offer teaching from 8:00 to 24:00 CET (summer time), so early in the morning in Germany would be in the evening in Japan. The price for group lessons equals that for individual teaching, except of course that a group shares the price among the participants.
http://home.snafu.de/jasiek/teach.html
Note that regular lessons allow a 20% discount. Depending on the amount of analysis per lesson, then it varies from EUR 6.4 (playing only) to 12.8 (analysis only) (price per hour for the whole group, to be shared among the participants), typically ca. EUR 10.
You would need to organise a group (find fellow pupils) by yourself.

Another option would be the Yunguseng Dojang.
It's basicly a group-class with 5 games and 3 lectures each month.
The nice thing, for those with timezone-problems is, that every game-review and lecture will be recorded and can be watched later. So a live-attendance is not required.

It seems to be that one needs to be under 26. Kind of important to mention that...

No, you don't have too, where did you read this?
If you are under 26 and a student, you get a discount on the fee, but it's not a requirement to join the dojang.
