Question mark vs question mark

Post by Joaz Banbeck »

I currently have a question mark after my KGS rating. I played another guy with a question mark after his. We both were hoping to get rid of them. Does playing each other do it? Or if one of us finally gets rid of the question mark, will it retroactively affect the other?

As the system gets more data on both of you, the accuracy of your ranks gets better and the question marks on both will go away.

If you only play question marks, I doubt your rank will get anywhere

Yes as one plays more, it helps solidify the other retroactively. The game itself can help some too.

I once made a name that I only played pure [?] players. Eventually I got a rating as those players went on to get ratings. It took a long time to get games though because I had to convince the [?] player to play another [?]!
