I'm not mathematically sure (after all, I'm not into this type of research), but you can check this computer. I think it is hacking proof, mostly.RobertJasiek wrote:As I have argued elsewhere, what I really want is absolute operating system and software security: for stated requirements, proven by mathematical theorems for a well-defined finite space of admitted algorithms...!hyperpape wrote:there are in principle higher levels of security than what Robert wants.

Nope:)RBerenguel wrote:seems overly concerned with security
It just requires encryption in both directions. (With the side effect that only few will communicate with you, but that would be your intention;) )4 is a totally different beast.
Too weak. I never take electronics of any kind (oops, except my digital watch) with me when entering China. The real problem is, however, that today almost all PCs contain components also assembled in China:)a different smartphone for going to China

The other standard joke: A PC needs a wall of 3m thick steel to separate it from its user. That is called "firewall".RBerenguel wrote:you can check this computer. I think it is hacking proof, mostly.

The New iPad
So I gave in and bought a new iPad when I got a bonus from work. The clearer text is already making me very happy with my purchase. Now, what are some good go apps to populate it with? I have SmartGo EasyGo, SmartGo Books and similar already.

Re: The New iPad
Also got a bonus from work and when I was in the store, I almost bought it. I had a direct comparison with the Ipad 2 and the display is a huge improvement.
Only problem is: I don't need it. But then: WHO need's it? I guess nobody.
I think I will not even use it for playing Go. KGS not working, Tygem has a display problem (has to be only temporary though) and Kaya is still under development. Sure, there are IGS and WBaduk, but the options are kinda limited.
It would make for a good Go studying tool, for sure. Especially on the daily commute to work.
Even movies, I prefer to purchase the DVDs where I have multiple languages and subtitles.
If only I had a good reason to get it ...

Yeah, it's definitely a luxury. But then, there's nothing wrong with that either really.SpongeBob wrote:Only problem is: I don't need it. But then: WHO need's it? I guess nobody.

Re: The New iPad
I got my iPad 2 for a job I did … I definitely didn’t need it, but now that I have it and use it, e.g., for watching TV while computing on the iMac and, especially, for solving Tsumego when I’m on the road, I never want to miss it again … so, some needs arise after they’re satisfied

Btw if you need to run KGS on iPad you should use AlwaysOnPC app.

Excellent, thanks! Um, there isn't much point in a joseki app for a ddk is there? Or am I totally wrong?lobotommy wrote:Screenshot with recommended go apps for iPad attached (something wrong with my connection, I hope it will upload)Boidhre wrote:So I gave in and bought a new iPad when I got a bonus from work. I think it could be a good training tool or for a post-game review.Boidhre wrote:Excellent, thanks! Um, there isn't much point in a joseki app for a ddk is there? Brugo Joseki is very nice app. You can also download Kogo's Joseki and use it in SmartGo or EasyGo.
