Video tutorials for beginners?

Hi,

is there a collection of video tutorials for beginners? I've seen some beginners videos on http://www.eurogotv.com/index.php (Youtube videos) but unfortunately searching on that web site gives me poor results.
Any ideas where I can go? Beside playing it's the best way for me to learn I think.
Currently I'm interested in opening strategy, invasion (prevention).

If you don't mind paying for it, there is http://www.internetgoschool.com run by a professional Go player with I assume hundreds of video lectures (1€ each).

Free sources are (not exclusively beginner stuff):

  Highly educational website with a lot of videos on how to punish overplay or with general advice how to play in certain situations. Even some video reviews of famous professional games can be found there.

  The YouTube-account of Battousai with a lot of lectures (about e.g. fighting, invasions, influence and openings), and videos of him playing against high-dan players while he comments on what he thinks about the position.

It would be really nice if there were a video or a couple of videos going over a few very basic points....

1. The difference between the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th lines
2. The advantages you get (in terms of safety and efficiency) from the corner vs. the side vs. the center.
3. Nets and ladders
4. Jumps, staying connected, broken shape
5. A few basic ideas about contact moves and broken shape.

Explaining these individually to beginners can get tedious. It would be nice to say "Here, watch this video, it's fifteen minutes long, then we'll review your game."

Check my YouTube Go Igo Baduk Weiqi list, it contains a few of the abovementioned videos but also many more.

It’s not really orderly, and it also misses quite a few videos, but if you check the video lists of the people I have in this list you’ll find other videos, too.

Thanks, good one, for me its not too advanced. Also I like the Andy and Sierra because they actually play the threatenings and answers, so I can see why something is good or why it's bad. As I beginner (and only chess player) I do not really see beyond half move 1

Hey mate, I've been watching and very much enjoying 'Murugandi reviews' from eurogotv site.
Rather than take a subject he will go through a game and explain most the moves. The conversations are between a 6d and a kyu player. Its both enjoyable and instuctive and you get to hear whats wrong with the moves that kyu player suggest.

It's a great concept, a good player and a weak one, the weak one asks the questions who come to a beginners mind.
I'm downloading the 420/flv so I can watch them on my television, which is great.

Hi,
I joined the internet go school. There are hundreds of lectures on there. You can sign up for unlimited use for one year which may well be cheaper than 1 euro a shot which gives you one month use of chosen film.
The videos appertain to all level of players so don't assume that you are going to get a massive collection of beginner only videos. Some of them are somewhat patchy quality wise as they tend to be recordings of live events rather than setting out specifically to be video tutorials. One can experience mild technical glitches and the occasional real time speech stumbling. Nonetheless I think they are pure gold. I am working through the beginner course by Guo Juan right now and one can see straightaway this is someone who really knows how to teach as well as being a very high level pro player. Have also joined the online classes which start in a couple of days. Seems like the beginning of a wonderful journey.
