date conversion

Post by iam3o5am »

Can anyone link me to a site that can convert chinese calendar dates to western calendar dates AS FAR BACK AS THE 1800's? Most seem to stop at 1900.

With the discussion about today being Honinbo Shusaku's birthday, I looked up his birthday in the GoGod database (via Smartgo Kifu) and see it listed as 1829-V-05.

An easy way to convert the old dates?

If you have the full GoGoD you have GoGoD95, which will convert the dates for you. F10. 6 June is the correct conversion.

If I am not mistaken, his dates of birth and death are Bunsei 12/5/5 and Bunkyū 2/8/10, that is, 1829-V-05 and 1862-VIII-10, that is, 1829-06-06 and 1862-09-03. You wrote in SL that the date of death is 1862-09-07. Was that a typo?
