AGA March Meeting Minutes

There was discussion about prices of the US Go Congress on KGS the other day which led me to the latest meeting minutes. There was some news there that I thought was worth talking about.

"Nihon Kiin has been in difficult financial condition. One of the consequences is the pending sale of the New York Go Center. The Seattle Go Center will remain open."

"The Nihon Kiin will pay for fewer professional visits to the West. In 2010, there will be no professionals sent to the European Go Congress and in 2011 there will be no pros sent to the US Go Congress. In subsequent years, this will probably alternate."

I know the links to these Board Meeting Minutes are not totally hidden, but I do wish they were a little more visible/accessible, maybe even an announcement in the EJournal from time to time, especially with news like this.

If Javaness hadn't posted info from time to time about them on the old GD, I wouldn't even know about them.

This is really sad news. I hope to, at least, visit the center once before such a thing happens.
