Amazing ladder

Post by FakeDeath »

Here is my recent game I played on KGS. It's unfinished but I still reviewed it and found an amazing ladder. Luckily I avoided it in my game ( I didn't see it at that time). Remind me of a an invisible ladder in famous pro game.

Here is the game. Check move 88. In the game I played N1 (which resulted in ko). I was thinking about playing L1 which would kill Black group unconditionally...But here is a nice variation leading to an amazing ladder! Black move M8.

All moves are forced so I didn't find any way for White to escape the ladder.

it is a double ladder. there is a tesuji that will clear both ladder with one move.
but...once the atari start there is no escape.

if you are intrested at tesuji:
if the black group on the bottom is alive.
with 88: play H9

i really didnt read if that work..but it should. you can verify.

Pretty awesome. I think it'd be just as awesome not to have avoided it. Sure you might have lost, but how many times will you get to see a double ladder played? :D

That looks fun! ;)

I always like running into instances of things like this (recently studied tesujis, triple kos, etc.), and definitely enjoy it when they show up in my own games. Reminds me that it doesn't matter who you're playing, or at what level, there are all kinds of amazing things that can happen.

I once got to play a spiral ladder in a game and was quite excited when I saw it.
