Well, I went 1-2 which is not terrible but I am starting to feel I want to work harder at this. Here is a no komi game I lost as black. In the the two games I had to give 3 stones, so they are not as useful to review. I haven't played since August so I am way out of shape, but still there are things I should know better than to do.

Have fun @ Cotsen.
How about R11 ? The game move:
H4 ?
G6 ?
Can B live if tenuki ? ( Seki is OK
)
Unclear how to profit with these peeps.
How about M5 peep, then L7 direction ?
You end in gote.
W gets shared vital area first.
Allows W C12.
- Lets W have a nice 2-space extension ;
- Pressures your top corner ;
- Feels cramped from your bottom shimari ;
- Naturally extends from your top corner ;
- Settles top corner with 1 move ;
- Deprives W of a nice extension ;
- Or, if W still extends, he helps solidify your bottom shimari ;
How about M5 peep, then L7 direction ?

Re:
Thanks for the comments!
I can't explain why netting was not on my radar. So basic.
That's likely better locally. I guess I was enamored with the idea inducing Q18 which I might have played anyway. But I also like Bill's idea of just wedging on the wider side.EdLee wrote:Have fun @ Cotsen.

It seemed to me over concentrated, but the ensuing fight is in the game is complicated after the cut.EdLee wrote:H4 ?

Looking at it again, I think black can do better than seki because of the weakness at E4. This was chicken and I should have spent more time reading it out. Sente is worth something at this stage.EdLee wrote:Can B live if tenuki ? ( Seki is OK

I didn't consider M5 first as black's group is still weak there. So it's leaning but you are correct that I didn't consider the fact that ending in gote is too easy on the opponent.EdLee wrote:Unclear how to profit with these peeps.

I agree that the result is good for white.EdLee wrote:You end in gote.

True. I guess D14 is better shape, but I wonder if in this position black can't just tenuki.EdLee wrote:Allows W C12.
