Hello!

Post by Circumgon »

Hello Everyone!

I like strategy boardgames, and I play chess since many years. I started to play go only one month and half ago, so I am a total beginner.

I found a go app for my phone, and I started to play with the app. I really like the game, it's a lot of fun! For my job, I have to spend a lot of time on the train, and I discovered that the go app is the best travel-mate! I played a lot against the phone since then.

I played some games against humans, but not so many. I don't manage to play online from the train, because the connection is not good, and I have very little time otherwise. I will try to play more against humans when I have time.

I read a book: Go, A Complete Introduction to the Game, by Cho Chikun. Very good book, I learnt a lot from it.

The thing that makes the game so fun for me is the balance between strategy and tactic. This is very different from chess, where tactic is much more important than strategy (unless you are at least a Master). In go, instead, the two aspects seem to be perfectly balanced!

I am learning a lot about the game, and I am improving quickly! And this forum seems to be the perfect place to find good information.
